Madagascar
Endangered owing to deforestation and habitat fragmentation. Trees are cleared for farming, especially rice and pasture and for charcoal production. It is now also hunted for bush-meat and introduction of dogs and cats are also taking a toll. The ‘protected’ areas offer little protection - it is hunted even within Ankarafantsika, and the Bora special reserve is now sersiously degraded.
